3/2006-Present URS Corporation - Civil Engineer Atlanta, GA

City of Sandy Springs Department of Public Works:

a) Utility Coordinator responsible for management of utility relocation schedules for Capital Improvement Projects, utility construction permitting in public right-of-way, and management of utility expense and efficiency improvements for City owned and operated facilities.

b) Project Manager for Outdoor Lighting Evaluation to determine an energy efficient alternative for pedestrian lighting on City streetscape projects. Project scope includes research of new lighting technology, recommendations to City Management and Council, development of light fixture specifications for construction, management of bidding process, drafting proposed amendments to the City’s outdoor lighting standards, Street Light Policy and Zoning Ordinance.

Field Services Engineering and Management:

c) Project Manager for British Petroleum (BP) Stair and Walkway Compliance which involved the management of BP contractors tasked with modifying on-site structures to achieve OSHA compliance. Responsibilities included client management, site investigation, bid package review, and on-site construction management.

d) Resident Engineer for Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Routine Handling Operations and Maintenance contract. Primarily tasked with quality assurance of construction activities. Responsibilities included routine inspection of ash disposal and stacking operations, inspection of existing dikes for structural deficiencies, quality assurance of earthen dike repair, piezometer and slope inclinometer data collection, and water quality analysis. Additionally, provided engineering support for Capital Improvement Projects which focused on improving the structural integrity of earthen dikes used to impound landfill and water quality ponds. These projects included siphon installation, pond draw-down, and rock buttress construction.

Water Resources Engineering:

e) Lead Project Engineer assisting in the management of a multi-million dollar Floodplain Map Modernization contract awarded by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GA DNR). Project responsibilities included engineering task management, project scheduling, coordination with GIS mapping department, and oversight of Hydrologic & Hydraulic (H&H) model development;

f) Project Engineer for Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) studies in various states including Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky;

g) Project Engineer for Existing and Future Conditions Floodplain Study in Henry County, GA;

h) Project Engineer for H&H model development and conceptual design of sanitary/storm sewer separation in Albany, GA. Storm water conveyance analysis was performed using XP-SWMM;

i) Hydraulic model development in HEC-RAS for scour analysis of GDOT bridge and culvert designs;
