OBJECTIVE: An internship opportunity in the field of engineering
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
November 2006 – Present Laboratory Assistant
Center for Environmental Research and Technology
University of California, Riverside
Work with a team of engineers and scientists to build air sampling systems to deploy to the field. Measure and study the effects of emissions in ambient air.
• Independently developed a method to document engineering records for easy retrieval. Responsibilities included drawing schematics of electrical and plumbing systems.
• Measured hydrocarbon emissions on the freeway by integrating air sampling instrumentation and data logging technology to a mobile sampling vehicle.
• Built portable sampling systems to measure texanol exposed to the environment from paint emissions.
• Constructed mechanical wind direction sensors for a field study on ammonia emissions.
• Calibrated gas flow rates to validate the accuracy of a vehicle emissions system.
• Analyze and display project data.
• Record inventories on laboratory chemicals and gases.
• Communicate with vendors to specify equipment applicable to current projects.
• Coordinated the facility’s lighting computer system.
