Sr. Product Engineer: Performed lead mechanical design work of automotive powertrain test equipment. Supervised a group of 3-8 designers & detailers. Designed hot and cold engine testers, automatic and manual transmission testers, axle testers, turbocharger and supercharger testers along with component test machines such as oil pumps and valve body test machines using Solidworks, Inventor and ACAD (2D). These machines were fully automated end of line testers along with laboratory developmental equipment which tested for function, durability and NVH. I have participated in several simultaneous engineering studies, DFMEA’s and proposals. Experienced in GD&T, material selection, component selection, heat treating and metal finishing processes. Aided in the manufacturing of equipment, assembly on the shop floor and testing and trouble shooting on both the shop and customers floors. Worked directly with many tier 1 and 2 OEM customers. Depending on work load I performed much of design work myself while the rest of my team did the layouts, detailing and checking. I would take ownership of the overall assembly model making sure everything would operate correctly as a total package. I would then spot check critical components before final release.
