To put language, people and technical skills to use in a safety and/or training environment while helping a company with safety, productivity, and complete quality work which are the responsibilities of all employees regardless of status or position. Even though primary function/title has been full time safety for most of the last 10 years, many times have doubled in other positions to include: running equipment during operations, receiving, supervising fabrication yards, training, translate, make up/follow punch lists and manage a punch list crew. I welcome the opportunity to work in a different country/culture to learn another language.

• Currently enrolled in the Occupational Safety Management Degree at South Central College in Mankato, MN.

• Speak Spanish and currently study French as time permits (have passport and have been to South America many times)

• Commercial Drivers License

• Operated & certified on boom trucks and small hydraulic cranes

• Worked OSHA and MSHA

• Specialty Rigging (machinery for millwrights)

• Ironwork

• Basic millwright work (low rpm drives, conveyors, precipitators, etc.)

• OSHA 500 Certificate

EXPERIENCE

You will note work with several companies several times. Have been on many turn-around’s, shut downs and long term assignments but almost all end with a lay off. In 25 year career have worked in 21 states and will travel almost anywhere. Worked regular with Metric (energy division of J.A. Jones) in the 1980’s and early 1990’s for about 8 years before it was dissolved.

Also worked union and non-union, power plants (fossil, gas and nuclear), paper mills, waste water treatment, bio-chemical, car (BMW) and substation projects. Worked in the field many years and worked up to the position of a general foreman before taking a safety position. Believe this gives an advantage over most safety professionals because most of the time the workers seem to respect and listen more as well as follow instruction due to experience.

Some duties included: attending regular client and contractor safety meetings; reviewing client and contractor compliance with site Safety Plans and performance; preparing written monthly and quarterly safety reports; briefing papers about all meetings attended; site inspection observations related to construction safety, site orientations (in English and Spanish).

In the past have been a LOTO manager on startup as well as trained workers on PPE, man lifts, scissor lifts, forklifts, confined space, fall protection, passed/certified structural welder test, hydraulic crane up to 60 tons, boom truck. Also possess a current CDL.
