EXPERIENCE

Senior Project/Manufacturing Engineer – Delphi Corporation, Kokomo, IN (2001 – 2009)

* Developed common assembly cell for $2,000,000+ project for battery pack assembly.

* Designed and debugged standard assembly platform for $1,000,000+ assembly line for accessory power module. Coordinated design efforts of other engineers.

* Saved approximately $200,000 in design and build costs with the development of a custom screw driving station that combined two machines into one. Replicated this design for a total savings of $400,000.

* Designed complete set of prototype tooling for new program saving approximately $13,000 by avoiding use of outside services.

* Developed and designed Standard Edge Belt Conveyor System resulting in Delphi Delco Electronics Defensive Publication no. 445090. Conveyor system used on variety of in-house machines and in-use today.

Advanced Project/Manufacturing Engineer – Delphi Corporation, Kokomo, IN (1990 - 2001)

* Effectively utilized outside design of 10,000 hours resulting in outstanding improvement in project cycle time. Employed 11 designers at 4 different outside companies. Supervisor stated, “Ron is the best example of mechanical equipment designers using outside resources to accomplish multiple projects.”

* Developed several standard assembly and process building blocks such as a heated buffer, conveyor, and monitor layout.

* Functioned as lead engineer on major pressure sensor programs involving lasers, vacuum and high temperature challenges.

* Performed an extensive competitive analysis between two vendors’ products resulting in one vendor completely redesigning their product line to be more competitive.

Associate Quality/Reliability Engineer – Delphi Corporation, Kokomo, IN (1986 - 1990)

* Compiled plant-wide supplier quality manual significantly contributing to Delco’s retention of a major customer.

* Established inspection audit area in Mexico for Delphi mechanical air control products. Spent time training Mexican workers on product inspection and techniques.

* Implemented Statistical Process Controls in assembly department.
