Headend Tech
Performs work involving installation and maintenance of communications systems in Cox Cable MTC. Install a wide variety of head end equipment to provide voice, video, and data communications services, advance services, alternate access through transmission, transport, and distribution. Install Head End equipment and associated fiber and cabling. Installs, moves, and removes all Head End, remote office, or cabinet equipment - including, but not limited to, racking, optical systems, multiplexer equipment, transport equipment, data equipment.
Perform check of RF levels and head end alignment Verify video and audio levels at Cox Cable MTC. Monitor Commercial Insertion equipment for performance as needed perform status monitoring of RF and data performance and further report and/or repair discrepancies. Includes the installation, construction, operation and repair of all equipment associated with the head end and signal distribution network. Maintenance of the head end, hub sites, and CATV production network. Implement, activate and maintain the coaxial plant, fiber optic, RF, CMTS, and video equipment within the head end. Troubleshoot forward & return path issues in the coaxial plant to ensure proper CATV, Internet. Install, test and maintain all equipment related to the delivery of HD, digital, and analog CATV as well as Broadband and VoIP services, CATV ad insertion. Test equipment experience includes network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, RF signal generators and power meters.
