As a Team Lead (Advance Support/Tier 3 level); responsibilities include doing everything that a Tier 2 does plus handling Third Level Escalations that are pushed up by the Tier 2s both from the technical and management stand point.

As a Network Engineer II (Tier2) the Responsibilities Included:

• Handling network outage situations on POP (ISP Edge) and backbone routers; which may include making configuration changes to the Backbone routers or making suggestion to the NOC to make certain changes to the configuration on the Core routers in order to resolve the outages.

• Troubleshooting at the AT&T POP router and making configuration changes to the POP based on AT&T policies and customer requirements.

• Handling all the escalations that are pushed through to the Tier 2 engineers by the Tier 1 engineers.

• Working with and troubleshooting OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, QOS, Cisco IOS, ATM, Frame-Relay, MPLS, IMA, OC3 (light experience) and DS3 (light experience) circuits.

• Mentoring Tier1s on daily basis with the Layer1 through Layer 3 issues including circuits and routing through the Internet and MPLS platforms.

• Event notification acknowledgment, correlation, and notification to affected customers in a rapid manner. This includes Monitoring the multi-customer ISP network environment using SMARTS tool.

• Troubleshooting complex Layer 1 through Layer 3 technical issues and coordinating with other groups to help restore the Internet service to the customer.

• Work with customers on troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating technical issues, including escalations to the Tier2 level.

• Creating trouble ticket and helping with technical escalation, path forward and resolution.

• Resolving DNS issues and modify DNS records.

• Troubleshooting the CSU (router) and making configuration changes to the CSU based on AT&T policies and customer requirements.

• Providing customer support for the EMAIL issues.

“Truck Order System” (based on Baan Configurator)

Responsible to understand client’s business process, do feasibility study and develop an add-in module on

the “Baan Configurator” called Electronic Truck Order (ETO). This add-in required 4 different input

screens to be developed using the active-X components, which would enable a dealer to enter some specific

information for a truck purchase order, which would be processed and would be used to produce a DAT file

containing that information in a pre-specified format. This data is then sent to the Company’s mainframe

database and purchase order-handling system electronically. I was the Lead in the design, coding and testing

phase.

Responsibilities included development of the Q&A documents for testing purposes and performing the tests on a customized Baan Front Office application. This contract included reporting and documenting bugs found in the database and keeping track of the status of the bugs.
