Thomson-Shore, Inc. INFORMATION SYSTEMS MANAGER 02/2008 – 5/2012

Thomson-Shore is a $40M book manufacturer (printer) located in Dexter, MI. The company has a single location and the technology environment is primarily (80%) Wintel, (15%) Mac and (5%) LAMP servers and approximately 150 Wintel and Mac desktop/laptops.

Oversee and direct multiple projects within a matrix organization using MS-Project Professional and Project Server as tracking and management tools in line with PMI project management methodologies. Projects include;

- Mid-sized data center migration (HVAC build-out, network infrastructure build-out, SAN upgrade).

- Manage all infrastructure sub-projects related to new $2.5M MIS replacement enterprise project.

- New desktop & Windows 7 / Office 2010 deployment to all front-office end users.

- Right-sizing the printer environment (27% reduction in printer count, 31% cost reduction).

- Migrating internal web pages from multiple formats to Sharepoint 2003.

Eaton Clutch Division was (at the time of my tenure) a $250M manufacturer of truck components. Clutch Division was a 3-site employer of approximately 650 employees located in Auburn, IN (the central location), Oklahoma City, OK and Kings Mountain, NC. Clutch Division was a Wintel shop of approximately 100 servers and about 700 desktop/laptops

Managed division-level projects according to PMI-based methods using MS Project in a matrix-style organization to interface with Corporate IT on Enterprise-level initiatives that affect the Clutch Division. Projects include;

- Data Center HVAC, storage and backup system upgrades.

- New desktop deployment to all front-office end users.

- Replacement of phone system (w/ Avaya VOIP system) along with necessary network infrastructure upgrades.

- Implementation of new backup application (BackupExec)

Managed and developed technical IT infrastructure to support staff (3 direct reports).

Defiance was a 4-site employer in the Detroit metro area with over 500 employees and was a Wintel shop with approximately 60-75 servers and over 500 desktop/laptops.

Managed division-level projects, and interfaced with vendors and suppliers to coordinate project deliverables. Projects include;

- Metro-area WAN implementation

- “Green field” network design and installation

- Lab workstation upgrades

- Custom lab data collection / data analysis application implementation

- New backup solution (ArcServe) implementation

- Novell / Microsoft server integration
