• Correlated assay plates for biology screening necessary for pharmaceutical drug development studies in areas of liver cancer and diabetes.

• Calibrate all machines and ensure all machines are working properly.

• Responsible for sterilizing plates with DMSO.

• Assisted in developing a more efficient procedure to sterilize plates by using the Beckman FX rather than the conventional method of using the Hamilton Star.

• Serially dilute library plates containing either chemical or radioactive compounds for assay plates.

• Operated Beckman FX to create copies of the Mother plate (which contained chemical/biological compounds) for biologists.

• Quality control of 96-well/384-well plates containing chemical and biological compounds. Interpret readings created by the Tecan Genesis to assess plates.

• Update and upload data into the Pfizer databases.

Aug. 2008 - Nov. 2008 Charles River Laboratory, Willimantic, CT - Laboratory Associate

• Handle and inoculate 6 week old chicks with various live influenza virus strains for the purpose of avian vaccination production.

• Euthanize inoculated birds by placing them into a CO2 tank in order to remove the bursar out of the bird.

• Harvested the bursar antivirus from the birds with use of scalpel and tweezers.

• Approximately 1000-2000 birds were done daily.
