Quality Control Specialist – Wallops Island Flight Facility, Va. – Launch Pad OA / Ops & Maintenance
As a launch pad quality control specialist, inspects all transporter erector launcher (TEL) systems, consisting of hydraulic, structural and mechanical. Inspects all systems in the liquid fueling facility (LFF), which contain liquid oxygen (LOX), liquid nitrogen (LN2), gaseous helium (GHe), gaseous nitrogen (GN2), and rocket propellant (RP-1), and associated storage vessels, piping, controls and instrumentation. Inspects all pad systems including deluge, environmental control (ECS), pneumatic systems for muscle air and purge, pressurization, power equipment, along with lighting, cameras, communication, structural steel and concrete. Works directly with the Quality Manager to define inspection, testing methods, techniques, and equipment and processes at the new launch facility. Assists in determining pass/fail standards and allowable variances. Coordinates procedural changes through engineering and processing personnel. Assist in the development of quality policies and procedures. Prepares project reports, as well as document control and archival.

Satellite Network Controller
As Shift Supervisor, monitored, controlled and directed corrective actions to 20 satellite earth terminals and 64 communications links valued at over $200 million for the East Pacific Defense Satellite Communications System Operations Center. I also coordinated all satellite accesses by directing, monitoring and controlling earth terminal transmission parameters, for each link, to ensure optimum performance of critical communications. Utilizing a DEC VAX 11/785 and network planning software, assisted in the development, coordination and implementation of DCA directed communication network configurations.
• Received the Air Force Achievement Medal, as a “Cut Over” team member. Over 100 links, 30 earth terminals, and 5 separate satellites were utilized to cut over 2 new DSCS satellites.
