● Searched the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) database with PubMed for biomedical literature.

● Used BLAST Assemble RefSeq Genomes to search databases using nucleotide and protein queries.

● Performed protein and nucleotide sequence alignments with the multiple sequence alignment computer programs

ClustalW with command line interface and EMBOSS from the European Bioinformatics Institute.
