Production Manager; Torrance, CA (2007 to 2011)

• Directed 50 production employees including operations and quality.

• Provided production and man hour scheduling for changing daily demands of customer orders.

• Enacted formula modifications to several existing products to improve overall quality and regain market share in the Southern California marketplace.

• Launched new products into the market place (one new product each year).

• Trained for six sigma program and completed three cost saving programs (each achieving $100,000 savings per project)

• Launched VPP (Volunteer Protection Program) and initiated OSHA Star program compliance, writing visual work analyses for job descriptions and training supervision and operation personnel for full support of the upgraded safety requirements.

Engineering Manager; Torrance, CA (2006 to 2007)

• Managed reliability department, capital projects and oversaw environmental compliance of the facility.

• Developed successful RPM program using MP2 platform into a viable system including a new storeroom facility with a newly hired reliability engineer and maintenance planner.

• Coordinated technical staff to startup bulk material air transfer system featuring Allen Bradley PLC batch programming.

Technical Manager; South Gate, CA (2005 to 2006)

• Designed and started-up $8 million dollar, 20% paper mill capacity increase project.

• Supervised technical staff with focus on optimization of newly installed process equipment and training of production and maintenance personnel.

• Wrote and submitted proposal for $1.5 million winder rebuild project.

Division Engineer; Chicago, IL (1995-2005)

• Led design team that brought together USG technical, financial, marketing and consultant engineering companies to produce multiphase estimates of a new green field paper mill.

• Designed and started-up paper stock processing (project cost ranged from $2 mil to $8 mil) systems at five USG paper mills.

• Managed installation of many individual equipment installations including new thickeners, PLC automation rebuilds, vacuum pumps, steam systems, AC and DC paper machine drive systems, presses, winders, pulpers, centrifugal pumps, piping effluent treatment systems and numerous other projects.

• Supported 7 paper mills, 2 ceiling tile plants, a specialty board plant and corporate management.

• Designed, installed and provided startup assistance to stock machine rebuild that improved operation run ability and achieved a 15% speed increase.

• Led third shift start up team of a new ceiling tile facility.
