WORK EXPERIENCE
1. June 2011 – till date
• Project Associate – Industrial Consultancy & Research Centre, IIT Madras
• Presently working as Project Associate in Department of Ocean Engineering under Prof. S.K Bhattacharya for the project titled ‘Flow induced vibration and noise’.
• The work comprises of studying the effect of pressure fluctuations over the surface of a body when it is subjected to fluid flow using Computational fluid dynamics.
PROJECTS DONE
• Hydrodynamic drag and seabed friction studies on an underwater mining system (M.Tech project) (1 year)
• Experimental and numerical estimation of various flow resisting parameters acting on DOROSMIN, a mining machine which is being developed in NIOT (National Institute of Ocean Technology, India).
• Hydrodynamic drag forces acting on various components of the mining machine were calculated using Computational fluid dynamic techniques.
• Experiments were done to find the seabed friction acting on the teeth of mining machine while it is being towed at various speeds.
• A study on ship repairing facilities (B.Tech project) (2 months)
• Studies were done on the various ship repairing facilities in Cochin Port Trust.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• NIOT-National Institute of Ocean Technology ,India (45 days)
• Underwent a 45 day training program at NIOT which provided valuable insights into the research aspects and technical development carried out by the organization. The training also presented a first- hand knowledge of organizational aspects and management styles at NIOT.
• Cochin Port Trust, India
• Underwent 30 days training as part of the undergraduate project work.
POSITIONS OF RESPONSIBLITY
• Secretary of Mechanical Engineering Students Association.
• Planned and organized various technical/non-technical activities in the Mechanical Engineering department of the college.
• Core coordinator of Annual National level techfest ‘TECHWIZARDS2K5’*.
• Assisted in the co-ordination of various departments/committees for the success of the event.
• Coordinator of ‘NITROUS-06’ **, a State level Motor show.
• Responsible for the sponsorship and participation of various automobile companies for the event.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
• Playing football, badminton.
* TECHWIZARDS2K5 – Annual technical festival of M.A College of Engineering, Kothamangalam, Kerala.
** NITROUS-06 – A state level motor show conducted by mechanical engineering students of M.A College of Engineering, Kothamangalam, Kerala.
