Employment History

City of Beeville Jan. 2012 to Present - Water plant operator and Lab. Tech.

Routine plant maintenance, control water flows. Lab. testing consists of PH, chlorine, temperature, turbidity, alkalinity, chlorides, hardness, ammonia, free chlorine, titration.

December 2010 - December 2011– Waste Water Technician Iraq– Transitioned for 2 weeks at C-5 (Taji) before being assigned to B-1 (Al Asad) WWTP; currently TAD to F-2 (IZ) WWTP. In this capacity I have performed normal operational duties including sample collection and storage (preservation); process control testing; adjustment of flows as determined by plant characteristics; received / logged SST trucks; performed routine preventive plant maintenance; handling of end by-product (dried sludge), as well as completing and maintaining applicable records as required by OEBGD, SOW and Company policy. I have also completed all Company-required training.

June 2008 - November 2009 – Laboratory Technician (Water) Iraq-- Camp Anaconda (Joint Base Balad). In this capacity, I performed not only Process Control testing, but Compliance testing as required and regulated by Preventive Medicine (TB Med 577), SOW, DOP, etc. and as set forth in Standard Methods, 21st Edition. I am well versed in calibration and maintenance of all attendant Lab equipment, e.g., pH meters, DO meters, analytical scales; muffle furnaces, color meters, turbidity meters, etc. I am also knowledgeable of required logs and reporting.

Although primarily employed in the water lab, I often substituted for Waste Water Lab Techs on R&R. As such, I am equally capable in the WW lab, having performed TSS, MLSS, Settleability, etc. as required by the Company and the Client. See following entry.

October 2005 - October 2007 – Laboratory Technician (Water) Iraq-- Camp Anaconda (Joint Base Balad). With a few others, I was instrumental in setting up the Waste Water testing facility. Maintained logs and records for all compliance and process testing. Maintained chemical / reagent / equipment inventories. Submitted required reports of analyses, SITREPs, etc. Performed sanitary surveillance of the water and ice systems, exceeding standards set forth. Performed, recorded and reported monthly bacteriological (coli form) testing as required by TB Med 577, SOW, DOP, etc. Performed training with operators as needed. Completed ROWPU training class. Received numerous certificates of recognition from the Client for services performed.

1994 - 2005 – WWTP Operator, City of Beeville, TX – Responsibilities included preventive plant maintenance; maintenance and repair of equipment (motors, pumps, meters, valves, etc.); process sampling and testing (TSS, MLSS, Settleability, Solids (cake) concentration, etc.); operated / maintained belt press.

1974 -1992 – Lease Operator, Gulf Oil / Chevron Houston, TX -- Safe operation / maintenance of lease-production facilities. Performed routine / scheduled inspection of equipment and performed required equipment maintenance / repair. Performed crew supervision, safety training and process improvement. Additional information – Previously First Aid and CPR certified. Trained / proficient on well testing, Oil Production Separator, Oil Test Separator, Heater Treater, Gun Barrels, Lact Unit, Pumping Units, Gas Lift Wells, and Valves, salt water pumps, dehydrators, flow meters. gas detection (H2S, etc.), and orifice (precision) measurement equipment. Possess CDL Class B driver’s license and have 17 years perfect driving record, with no lost time.

1970 -1974 – Fuel Technician at Naval Air Base Beeville, TX – Fuel Technician with Advantra Corporation. Performed fueling services for Military vehicles and equipment, Fire Department, runway generators, etc. Performed / maintained fuel inventories, fuel logs, fuel purchases. Performed various small engine maintenance, service and repairs, as needed.
