WORK EXPERIENCE
Graduate Research Assistant Ohio university (June 10-Dec11)
• Performed cyclic voltammetry and potentiostatic experiments to evaluate cathodes for higher current density in urea electrolysis.
• Immobilized urea into Polyacrylamide gel matrix and carried out experiments using Rotating Disk Electrodes to extract information on reaction kinetics. The project was funded by Department of Defense.
• Optimized the electrode by modifying surface in acrylamide gel for urea electrolysis.
• Studied the modified surfaces under X-Ray Diffractometer and developed ideas to accelerate reactions at the electrode-electrolyte interface.
• Assembled a flow system to determine extent of mass transfer dominance on the reaction.
Process Operations Intern- Moss Landing Cement Company (Aug 09- Dec09)
• Responsible for engineering trouble shooting, operation and maintenance of Reverse Osmosis, Nanofiltration and Ultrafiltration system.
• Evaluated dewatering equipments such as Filter press, Centrifuge and Rotary Vacuum Drum filter for process requirements.
• Worked with process technicians to troubleshoot day to day pilot plant operations.
• Analyzed pilot plant data to close heat and mass balance.
Process Engineering Intern- Calera Corporation (May 09-July09)
• Developed process model of Multi Stage Counter Current Absorber using Aspen Plus.
• Performed calculations for Design Basis Memorandum (DBM) and Engineering Design Specification (EDS). Participated in safety review (HAZOP).
• Reviewed scientific literature and presented on the application of carbonic anhydrase
for carbon dioxide sequestration.
• Updated P&ID, PFD, SOP, work orders and assisted in preparing process datasheets
and design of experiments (DoE).
• Hands on experience with Coulometry, Continuous Emission Monitoring System.
Graduate Research Assistant Texas A&M University Aug08-May09
Techno Economic evaluation of Natural Gas Transportation in the form of LNG and Gas Hydrates (Methane Clathrates) using HYSYS.
Graduate Research Assistant University Of Nevada Reno Aug06-May07
• Developed a composite material for photovoltaic application by electrodeposition of Ru nanoparticles over the TiO2 nanotubes.
• Studied TiO2-Ru composite using optical and electrochemical techniques.
Computer Skills: Gambit Fluent, Aspen Plus, Hysys, MathCAD, Microsoft Visio, Excel,
