ISO 14001 duties: internal compliance audits, environmental compliance, training, develop plans, reports, maintaining files, verification of permits (production, equipment, emission etc.) and licenses, documentation, environmental policy, aspects and impacts and EMS compliance with Entropy software. I worked independently in Las Vegas, Utah and Colorado and as part of an environmental team in the US. I was responsible for developing ISO check lists for each jurisdiction, performing internal audits, writing reports of findings and recommendations, implementing and maintaining the ISO programs in Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Michigan, and Indiana. Portion of the internal audits included: conformance to all environmental compliance sections (federal, state, local regulations) such as: air permits, storm water permits, mining permits, hazmat permits, water rights, SPCC plans, water discharge, sampling, and training of all employees to ISO standards, site procedures, EMS, documentation, and record keeping. I developed and implemented SPCC plans, which saved the company $60,000 over the past two years, performed asbestos surveys for the construction and contracting division, due diligence surveys, and indoor air quality sampling. Part of my duties also included water and hazardous waste sampling, hazardous waste manifesting, and emergency response. I also informed the safety department of non conformances observed during my internal audits, relating to OSHA and MSHA violations.

Industrial Hygiene: I performed over 1,000 indoor air quality assignments and many occupational health and safety audits. I started in California and was promoted within one year to open my own branch in Nevada. Duties included: developing sampling plans, interpreting analytical data, writing reports, and recommending effective control strategies, for chemicals, bacterial, and microbial concerns. I have performed asbestos and sewage assessments, IAQ and microbial investigations, and due diligence surveys of buildings nationwide in numerous facility types including dwellings, commercial buildings, laboratories, K-12 schools, university campuses, warehouses, restaurants, hotels, retail outlets, and data centers. Additionally, I have overseen microbial mitigation for several facilities. Some examples of facilities that I have investigated are: Resort properties in Nevada and California; multi Condominium complexes, a high-profile office building in New Orleans (Hurricane Katrina), emergency response for hazardous materials spill for the petrochemical industry (Tosco Refinery), and oversight of drying efforts in water-damaged buildings (residential). I also performed industrial hygiene assignments in oil refineries and performed compliance audits for health, safety, and environmental compliance. At Spraylat, my duties entailed the management of all safety and environmental operation programs, wrote and implemented safety programs and policies, hazardous waste management, licenses, permits, and training. I assured compliance with OSHA, EPA, local, State and Federal regulations. I completed SARA 312/313 reports and was in charge of MSDS. I also performed workers’ compensation claims, accident investigations and reduced the reportable accident by 92 percent. At Praxair, I was in charge for the environmental health and safety department. My duties included workers’ compensation claims investigations, hazardous waste management, employee and sub-contractor training, industrial hygiene services, such as air samples and noise monitoring, and overhaul of the safety programs. I completed the “STOP” program for all employees and a stand-down day for safety training. This facility closed down and relocated to Indiana after six months of employment. At URS, I performed numerous Phase I environmental site assessments for private industries and developers. In addition, I performed numerous environmental, health and safety audits in manufacturing and chemical processing plants as a single inspector or part of a team. I performed industrial hygiene services at Exxon Mobile refinery in Torrance including various chemical sampling, work performance, job evaluations, and reports.
