Commercial / Industrial / Residential Construction: Directed several large-scale construction and renovation projects. Planned, scheduled and directed all phases of projects, from demolition to new construction.
− Expertly managed multimillion-dollar project entailing renovation of US Ambassador to Portugal’s residence. Installed and tested all mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems.
− Led several major construction projects for Lajes Field Air Base in Azores, Portugal including lead abatement, blasting, painting, demolition and construction, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Fuel Tank/Hydrant Repair: Coordinated planning and execution of projects entailing inspection and repair of fuel storage tanks for US Air Force Center for Engineering and the Environment (AFCEE) programs at Lajes Field, Portugal and Aviano Air Base, Italy. Coordinated repair and maintenance of fuel hydrants for several sites across Italy and Spain.
− Spearheaded several multimillion-dollar projects encompassing repair of vertical aboveground storage tanks ranging from 85K to 10M gallons to ensure compliance with American Petroleum Institute (API) 653, and NACE.
− Facilitated comprehensive cathodic protection survey including specialized maintenance of type III hydrant fueling systems for aircraft fueling, and maintenance and repair of oil/water separators.
Type III Pumphouse Construction: Championed planning and delivery of $6.5M project entailing construction of a new fueling system at Lajes Field, Portugal. Directed all phases of this multifaceted project including civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical/controls design/engineering operations.
− Steered erection of two 10,000-barrel aboveground storage tanks, a new fuel pumphouse, and aboveground/underground piping.
− Orchestrated design and construction of instrumentation such as galvanic and impressed current cathodic protection systems, a fire alarm system, and a PLC controls system.
− Functioned as Electrical Quality Control Specialist, directing testing of all electrical systems, controls and instrumentation.
Water Treatment and Distribution Systems: Led installation and testing of $1M PLC controls system for remote monitoring and control of water system at Lajes Field, Portugal.
− Drove installation of computers, flowmeters, tank-level transmitters, pressure transmitters, and multiple electrical and PLC panels throughout base water system.
Environmental Consulting and Remediation: Directed all field activities, including equipment engineering design and report generation, for various petroleum contaminated sites listed under the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Petroleum Cleanup Program.
Asbestos Abatement: Oversaw all project activities for Indoor Air Quality Survey and Comprehensive Asbestos Survey conducted at Terminals C and D of Tampa International Airport for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority in Tampa, Florida. Directed identification of possible asbestos containing materials and gathered samples of suspect materials.
