CORPORATE SECURITY DIRECTOR, 2004 to September , 2010

Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage performance of all job-related responsibilities associated with a 24 hour Security and Parking/Transportation Department including direct supervision of Security Supervisors, Officers, Shuttle Drivers, Lot Attendants and Cashier (approximately 100 employees system-wide). Experience developing and managing capital and operating budgets for system-wide Security and Parking Services. Monitor variances against budget on an on-going basis.

• Complete responsibility for purchasing all security and parking/transportation equipment and supplies.

• Develop department goals and objectives, implement policies and procedures; measure and evaluate effectiveness using established goals.

• Analyze budget line items to decrease costs. Eliminated outside contractors saving $700K annually.

• Develop, implement and continually update the Security and Parking/Transportation Management Plan.

• Supervise and/or conduct security awareness programs for staff system-wide including new employee orientation, department in-services and continuing education.

• Conduct risk assessments to develop and improve security standards and procedures protecting personnel and equipment in support of organizational objectives.

• Analyze incident and accident reports to develop and recommend improvements to procedures and approaches to security and loss prevention.

• Coordinate, plan and participate in disaster drills in conjunction with the organization’s system-wide disaster plan.

• Conduct periodic site inspections to access compliance with facility and agency regulations. Maintain appropriate documentation of inspections and follow-ups.

• Collaborate with local, state and national agencies relative to hospital security investigations; direct and/or escort agency personnel to hospital buildings and premises.

• Ensure cooperation and coordination of hospital activities with law enforcement and fire fighting agencies.

• Establish and supervise procedures to acquire, control and issue motor vehicle decals.

• Performed extensive management functions planning and implementing security, parking and transportation policies and procedures.

• Supervised security personnel, participated in interviewing and selection of applicants, reviewed employee performance evaluations and recommended promotion and salary adjustments.

• Supervised, scheduled and monitored Security Supervisors and Officers (approximately 50 employees) to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, patients and visitors. • Conducted building and grounds hazard surveillance surveys on a regular basis to detect code violations, hazards and incorrect work practices/procedures.

• Planned, coordinated and directed day to day activities such as: staff assistance with patient restraints, and intervention with disruptive patients, visitors and staff; escort service for visitors and staff; traffic control; orientation and monitoring of personnel working in high risk areas; investigation, review, evaluation and follow-up of reports of accidents and criminal acts.

• Developed and implemented security procedures in compliance with hospital policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.

• Assisted department managers, directors and administrators in the proper enforcement of safety/security regulations and codes.

• Conducted and participated in all hospital drills including fire, disaster, and infant abduction.
