Representative Projects:

RCRA Facility Investigations DOW CHEMICAL COMPANY

Freeport, Texas

Prepared sections of technical report including local geology and hydrogeology, aquifer testing, and geotechnical conditions. Conducted and evaluated field investigations classifying subsurface conditions. Installed deep multi-cased groundwater monitoring wells isolating three sand units above the target zone. Developed and sampled monitoring wells. Performed and evaluated ground water pump tests, slug tests, and tidal surveys. Interpreted results from cone penetrometer borings. Performed environment soil sampling. Conducted EM-31 and earth resistivity geophysical surveys. Performed, evaluated, and created geologic cross sections from SP, natural gamma, and resistivity borehole geophysical logs.

Geological Fault Studies, Phase I & II CWA PIPE LINE

Deer Park, Texas

Prepared technical report and stratigraphic cross sections. Performed and interpreted SP, natural gamma, and resistivity geophysical logs of boreholes. Supervised trenching operations and mapped vertical contacts between soil horizons. Performed Phase I Study which included review of topographical maps, aerial photographs, published literature, and site reconnaissance.

Environmental Site Evaluations SANIFIL

Louisiana

Performed subsurface and regulatory agency background investigative programs for nonhazardous oilfield waste (NOW) sites. These investigations included environmental sampling of soils, surface water and groundwater, EM geophysical surveys, tidal surveys, and regulatory agency records reviews.

Phase I Environmental Site Assessments VARIOUS CLIENTS

Various Locations, Texas

Performed site reconnaissance, organized regulatory agency record reviews, and generated reports for several sites in Texas.

Municipal Solid Waste Landfills VARIOUS CLIENTS

Texas

Performed groundwater characterization studies, quarterly groundwater monitoring programs and soil liner/cap evaluations. Directed drilling operations; installed, developed and sampled monitoring wells; logged borings; and performed slug tests. Analyzed slug test data using Aqtesolv software, Hvorslev Method, and Bouwer and Rice Method. Managed annual site monitoring programs to evaluate potential leachate migration from several types of landfills by performing, evaluating and reporting earth resistivity surveys.

Hazardous Waste Impoundment Closures PHILLIPS 66 BORGER REFINERY

Borger, Texas

Prepared certification report submitted to the TNRCC. Provided construction quality assurance for the closure of two hazardous waste surface impoundments. Project included construction of a clay-bentonite cap, and installation of a synthetic HDPE flexible membrane liner. Responsible for the following: company representative providing client with daily field reports summarizing construction progress and testing data, borrow source selection and acceptance, accepting bentonite delivered for project, advising client on percentage of bentonite to add to borrow source soils, accepting HDPE, selecting locations for destructive test samples of liner seams, observing air pressure and vacuum testing of liner seams and repairs, locating areas of HDPE liner needing repairs, and keeping a photographic log of project construction phases.

Slurry Trench Installation SHELL COKER FACILITY

Deer Park, Texas

Developed and conducted QA/QC testing program for an atapulgite/cement slurry wall. Performed field inspection of excavation procedures and monitored slurry batching operations. The completed wall is used both as a cut off wall and for structural support. Installed inclinometers attached to steel H-Piles in the wall.
