Reference: Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Houston, TX
I was promoted from Process Engineer to Innovation Engineer in November of 2008. My primary role is to drive Process and Product Development by instituting LEAN and Continuous Improvement Strategies.
It is my ability to combine advanced engineering principles with a practical hands-on understanding of fabrication practices that has made me a very effective manufacturing engineer. I believe that the best place for an engineer is on the shop floor working closely with the skilled technicians to proactively develop innovative solutions.
I am a proficient designer with both AutoCAD and Solidworks, using them daily to create 2D fabrication details, 3D part models, machinery layouts and work flow plans.
I have spent the past fifteen years as an engineer working in production facilities. For five years I was responsible for designing and prototyping high-speed progressive tooling for metal forming and stamping. I have additional experience specifying and writing process and equipment proposals with advanced manufacturing processes.
I have been working hands-on with LEAN principles since 2002 and have gained several LEAN and Continual Improvement Certifications through the Kennametal Center for Operation Excellence at St. Vincent College of Latrobe, PA.
