Manager Systems Development (2006-2008)

Leading a team of 35 software engineers including 16 employees, 5 a-list contractors and 14 off-shore contractors remotely located in Colorado, Kansas, Virginia and India. Responsible for the development and production support of data warehousing/business intelligence application systems for Marketing Science, Database Marketing, Boost Marketing, eCommerce, Legal and Sales.

• Key participant in planning the move of application servers from Charlotte to Lee’s Summit in an effort to consolidate data centers resulting in a $51.9m savings over 3 years.

• Developed a roadmap for consolidating four marketing applications resulting in an annual savings of $300,000 in labor costs.

• Initiated a project to move manually started processes into a scheduler that reduced the headcount needed for production support activities and reduced month-end processing time from 10 days to 6 days.

• Identified single points of failure within the team and through project assignments improved the knowledge across the team and eliminated points of failure.

• Reduced contracting labor costs by pairing up off-shore contractors with on-shore contractors for cross training and not extending on-shore contracts at roll-off dates.

• Created and managed two phased project plans to consolidate two churn management databases into a single source, ensuring resources/budget aligned with timeline and deployed two months earlier than customer want date.
