Project Description: (Production Support)

POS: [Point Of Sale] is a front end application for the client. The POS Registers in the store are connected to Two UNIX servers in the store, one is master and the other is back up.

The Gas Station POS terminals are designed using Java and a process is attached to the POS application of the Store. The other applications that are merged with the POS application are EPS-Electronic Payment Services, Signia, and Affinity.

EPS Application is responsible for all the electronic payments at the store. This includes the Validation of the Debit Cards, Credit Cards & Gift Vouchers. The EPS application is integrated to the POS System through a Hypercom network. This includes another application called Signia. This is responsible for the Signature Capture validation on Credit card Transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Writing a script to monitor the Application which handles the Electronic payment Services in the store.

• Develop the existing script such a way that scripts will do multiple things and performance.

• Need to resolve the tickets according to the priority and issue in the application.

• Identifying the issue and analyze the root cause of the issue and fix the as soon as the requirements comes from the application.

Project Description: (Production Support)

DCM: [Demand chain Management] is a third party application developed by NCR Corporation. Safeway is using this application to forecast the sales/demand of items at store-item level. This can be done by using Teradata and ETL scripts in UNIX. The script will call the RDBMS and the data will be extracted using these scripts. We basically need to monitor the jobs using ESP. The jobs will be scheduled in the ESP, it will start and ends according to the time frame which each job will take.

Responsibilities:

• Need to Monitor the jobs in timely manner each job has scheduled in the jobs and if the job fails we need to fix the issue as soon as possible and it is more critical because this will affect all other jobs.

• Need to fix the issue without any delay and timely manner.
