Project Title : Forward error correction (FEC)

Description : Forward error correction (FEC) is system of error control of control for data transmission ,whereby the sender adds redundant data to its massages, also know as error correction code .This allow the receivers to detect and correct errors without the need to ask the sender for addition data. FEC can be used in ATM networks for data transmission .Thus by using FEC for data transmission in ATM networks we can recover the lost packets

The advantages of forward error correction are that a back channel is not required. FEC information is usually added to mass storage devices to protect against damages to the storage data.
