Senior Project Manager, IT Operations and Infrastructure Services (2004-2010)

* Managed an $8M budget to design and implement the retrofit of 6,500 sq/ft of mainframe raised floor space into in-row co-location space while data center was running. Introduced dual power, additional cooling, fire and emergency shut off to the facility. Delivered project on time and on budget.

* Managed a $2M budget to design and implemented fit-out of 3,500 sq/ft of raised floor space off the campus. Implemented 90 computer racks, distributed 250 kW of power, as well as fiber and network to racks. Delivered the project ahead of schedule and on budget.

* Strategized options to double an existing data centers power and sq/footage and made recommendations for long term computing plans.

* Collaborated to design a multi-partner High Performance Computing (HPC) facility of 8MW and 24K sq/ft in western MA. Made recommendations for long term computing strategy.

* Petitioned and obtained city permits and coordinated the construction of conduits in city streets, resulting in an accelerated delivery of service to new buildings.

* Negotiated multiple service contracts with various vendors, resulting in improved service and response times.

Network Strategist, Telecommunications and Network Services (2001-2003)

* Managed a $4M budget to design and construct a single mode fiber optic cable distribution system to 170 buildings on the campus.

* Negotiated a 20 year option to lease fibers in a Boston/Cambridge ring, resulting in a nine figure savings while developing a diverse redundant path to an off campus data center to enhance Business Continuity (BC).

* Led a team for design recommendations to construct over 350 new tel/data distribution rooms on campus and started construction paving the way for Voice over IP (VoIP) and other enhanced services.

* Led a team to design and build seven duct miles of conduit distribution on campus to expand tel/data network.

* Managed and coached a team of 12 staff members. Administered a budget of $2M and daily operation of the group.

* Provided timely, reliable data, voice, and video facilities and services to the MIT community of over 17.5K users in 160 buildings.
