Engineering Coordinator/Specialist IT Analyst

Simultaneous responsibility between two departments: Technical Services and IT Business Systems. The Technical Services position included engineering management, facility design and maintenance. The IT Business Systems position supported the SAP investment management, project systems, plant maintenance, and stockroom material management modules.

• Managed the scope development, design and construction of the Pittsburgh Technology Center for three business units in 2006. Developed and implemented the preventative maintenance program. Provided engineering and general maintenance support for the Pittsburgh Technology Center.

• Member of the Technology Center Operating Committee which developed the laboratory operating budget. Ensured the laboratory operated in a safe manner, and discussed and resolved any open issues regarding the Technology Center.

• Participated as a Steering Committee member for the remediation and demolition of the Lanxess Sybron manufacturing facility in Birmingham, NJ.

• Managed the Lanxess North America Technical Community quarterly meetings. The team focused on developing common business/operational plans, sharing knowledge between sites, discussing new corporate initiatives regarding facility asset management.

• Negotiated and managed the engineering service agreements that provided engineering design, construction management, and mechanical integrity services to various Lanxess sites.

Developed and coordinated capital project spending plans for plant improvements totaling up to $11M. Facilitated the plant's maintenance improvement program.

• Managed a Maintenance Improvement Program, reducing maintenance costs 30% over two years. Reduced Maintenance Department overtime from 46% to 9% while increasing plant production capacity by 20%.

• Key member of a task force that reduced manufacturing costs by 30%.

• Cut plant downtime by improving equipment reliability.
