CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Supervised and managed full range of accounting, budgeting and administrative functions for Industrial Lubricants Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary (then a $35 million company) of Diamond Shamrock Refining and Marketing Company now known as Valero Energy Corporation.
Reduced staff and subsequent operating expenses by over 50% without a loss of services or quality in preparation for sale of Industrial Lubricants Company which was ultimately sold for a profit.
Led committee to create original $1.5 million budget for new corporate headquarters technology infrastructure and negotiated a third-party contract to reduce budget $375,000 for Ultramar Diamond Shamrock, a new company resulting from merger of Ultramar Corporation and Diamond Shamrock Refining and Marketing Company.
Chaired and managed technology committee in design and implementation of technological infrastructure of the new 600 person corporate headquarters campus for Ultramar Diamond Shamrock.
Directed strategic and tactical planning for technology initiatives for the $5 billion Diamond Shamrock Refining & Marketing Company (Valero Energy Corporation).
Developed the process for linking technology strategy to business strategy resulting in technology initiatives that provided a competitive advantage. Endorsed client/server initiative that decreased technology costs by over $1 million annually after full implementation.
Oversaw turnaround of Stone Resources, Inc. (originally known as Global Stone Company), a $5 million manufacturing company, by providing hands-on accounting, financial statement preparation and reconciliation, cost/inventory analysis, current and future year budgeting, cash flow projections, receivables collections and payables.
