Industry Experience
MedAssets (Broadlane Inc), Plano, Texas April 2007 - Present
Sourcing Support, Lead SQA
MedAssets helps healthcare providers find cash from existing operations and improve margins by providing comprehensive financial performance solutions which improve healthcare providers’ operating margins and cash flow, delivering the potential to increase a typical health systems’ net patient revenue by 1-3% and decrease supply expense by 3-10%. As a QA Lead of Sourcing Support Service Line, reporting to Director, QA, I am responsible for the quality of all software products and services for this service line. That is my top priority. But I’m also known for accepting challenges to tackle product problem areas and drive solutions to them.
Responsibilities:
• As a Member of the Change Board Committee, I was able to delay/stop many releases to Production environment which could have potentially ended up affecting other applications because of the Integration points.
• Defined standards and implemented IT quality assurance “best practices” and procedures in coordination across the teams (e.g. Use of “Releases” module in Quality Center to capture Agile Developments’ Sprint cycles)
• Worked with the Director of Development to improve the quality of the software going into QA. Established regular defect reviews, unit testing and handoff criteria.
• Conducted Scenario review meetings with Developers & Business Analysts on regular basis which helped them understand what kind of testing was being done and why.
• By Working closely with development teams, Project Managers, Business Analysts and Release Management teams to identify project time lines and resource requirements, I was successfully able to Direct and align testing resources, ensuring all deadlines were met while considering constraints on deadlines, and tech resources.
• Responsible for Recruiting and managing contractors for projects that had tight deadlines and not enough resources.
• Prepared test plans and involved in designing, documenting, reviewing, writing and executing test cases.
• Actively worked with other members of the QA team to constantly improve the process, tools, and effectiveness of the team. (e.g. gave a presentation about the role of QA in Agile Methodology)
• Coordinated frequent status check meetings with the team and provided the Weekly Status Reports to management.
• Because of my “Attention to Details” attitude I was asked to perform GAP Analysis for some projects where I had to compare applications and write down detail requirements for missing features which was then used by developers and QA.
• Successfully led the testing efforts in a cross functional team with offshore and domestic resources
• Held the role of QC Admin to add new users, change permissions for existing users, create new projects etc...
• Creatively found time and resources (within heavy software release workloads) to drive the automation of our tests using QTP. We were able to achieve 80% TestCase coverage for most of the applications via automation which saved us time during Regression testing.
• Developed Regression testing scripts using Web UI for Silverlight platform to determine which tool suites our needs.
• Validated test Results, logged defects and generated several defect reports using Quality Center which were sent to the whole team so they could understand the urgency of fixing the defects on time.
• Used HP Quality Center to document requirements, write Test cases, execute Test Lab and create defects.
• Currently working on efforts to move all the Quality Center Testcases & Defects to Rally as Rally is going to be our tool for Agile Development.
