Microcontroller Based Passenger Information System

The project is based on MICROCONTROLLER. It demonstrates the use of Microcontroller to

automate the display of information related to the halts of the city transport/metro trains. A LED/LCD display is set up to help passengers view the information.

A transmitter emitting the signal of desired frequency is placed in the stop. The transportation

vehicle has the device with a receiver and a microcontroller. The microcontroller is programmed

to match the frequency of the signal emitted by the transmitter and it displays the stop name at

which the bus/metro train arrives.

Dynamic Host configuration protocol (DHCP)

DHCP provides an automated way to distribute and update the IP address and other configuration

to a DHCP client through the exchange of a series of messages, known as the DHCP conversion

to a DHCP transaction. If the DHCP server and DHCP clients are located o different subnets a

DHCP relay agent is used to facilitates the conversation

EMBEDDED GSM BASED MONITOR AND CONTROL

This project is based on monitoring and controlling of the electrical devices (Analog and Digital) remotely using GSM modem. The GSM modem provides the communication mechanism between the user and the microcontroller system by means of SMS messages.

User can control multiple electrical devices by sending suitably formatted SMS message to the microcontroller based control system. These SMS commands are interpreted by microcontroller system and are validated. If the SMS command received is valid then it takes the necessary action to control the said devices.

This system also continuously monitors the status of the devices connected to it. If the status of any critical device changes from ON to OFF or vice versa, then microcontroller based system automatically sends the SMS alerts back to user. After completion of the command implementation this system sends the confirmation messages back to the user.
