EXPERIENCE

Was working with Dr. Moopens Group in Dubai as a Laboratory In charge in Union Medical Centre from June 2007 till December 2010.

Was working with Medinova Diagnostic Centre also a centre under Dr. Moopens Group in Dubai as Laboratory Assistant from July 2005 up to May 2007.

Qualified as Medical Technologist in Mumbai and working as a full time Medical Technologist at the Dholkawala Maternity Home, Semi Automated Laboratory since August 2002 till August 2004. I have experience in the theory and practice of Hematology, Serology, Chemistry, Automated Chemistry, Blood Banking, Bacteriology, Urine and Stool Analysis. I also have a through practice in Drawing Blood from adults as well as Newborn infants. Have done a lot of Pediatric Pathology since it was a Maternity Home.

Worked as an Intern in Sir. Harkishandas Nurottamdas Hospital and Research Centre for a period of three months from May 2002-July 2002. I worked there in OPD, Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Blood Bank, Clinical Pathology and Histopathology Departments. Was known and preferred over other interns for my sincerity and dedication.

In addition I am also involved in training Sophia College Postgraduate Students of Medical Technology (Diploma in Clinical Analysis) with their regular Clinical Rotations and also give lectures on Automated Hematology and Concept of Quality Control. I am also involved in giving lectures and demonstrating E.L.I.S.A techniques to the B.Sc students of Microbiology.

In October 2003, I was appointed as an assistant Consultant for S. K. Medical Diagnostic Centre. My duties entailed:

Meeting the Doctors and giving the details of the Laboratory and getting work from them.

Ensure smooth running of the Laboratory.

Meeting the Doctors and give them the Consulting Rooms on lease at nominal rates.

Maintain daily records of the Tests performed.

In all, supervise the Laboratory.

AWARDS

Awarded the Best Student Trophy for the year 2001-2002 at Diploma in Clinical Analysis.

Awarded a memento by the Association of Medical Technologists (Western India)

Awarded the Best Science Exhibit at the School Level.

Won the Debate Competition at the School Level.

Recently awarded a Medal for rendering services to the St. John’s Ambulance Brigade, No. 3 Maharashtra District.

Awarded Certificates in Athletics and Social Service Activities.

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS

• Treasurer of the Board of Registry of the Association of Medical Technologists, Western India. We offer a Fellowship Examination in Medical Technology. This Board of Registry is supported by Mumbai’s top Clinical Laboratory Scientists/Pathologists. We are now trying for Recognition of the course with different Universities in India. Our future plan includes an Accreditation Cell for all Laboratories.

• Along with my Professor, was invited to conduct a Clinical Chemistry training Program for the preparation of ISO peer committee at a reputed hospital in the suburbs, India.

• Was also invited for conducting similar kind of training program for one of the Fully Automated Laboratory in South Mumbai.

• Was recently invited to Ahmedabad, Kanoria Hospital for conducting lectures and training sessions in Automated Hematology. We hope to be consulted on a regular basis with many Hospitals, which may need our expertise in training their Technologists, as accreditation is becoming a must for all small and big Laboratories.

• Treasurer and a Life Member of the Association of Medical Technologists (Western India).

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Have led a very active life in School by taking part in debates, Science Exhibitions and Social Service Activities. I was also a member of the Rotary Group, Mumbai.

Was the Troop Leader for my Group in Social Service.

In College, used to take part in all the College Activities including Athletics and various College Festivals.

Was an Organizer in organizing the first and the only Intercollegiate Festival for Elphinstone College where 32 Colleges had participated.

In the year 2001, had been to Bhuj, Gujarat when a terrible Earthquake had struck the city killing and injuring thousands. We at Saifee Ambulance had taken up the challenge and had set up a Medical and a Relief Camp, our duties entailed giving First Aid to the needy, providing Medicines and transporting the injured to bigger Hospitals for further treatment.

Am a present member of St. Johns Ambulance Brigade; Saifee Ambulance, Maharashtra District, Division II and play Drums in the Band Division for the Ambulance. I take part in the Republic Day Parade and Independence Day Parade, where the School Children and the Police Squad Parade at our drumbeats.
