Hi,
I came across the opening for an Industrial Engineer and I am writing to
you regarding that.
I am Mrinal Patel and I have finished my MS Industrial Engineering from the
New York University's Polytechnic School of Engineering. I have completed
Bachelors of Engineering and specialized in production engineering.
As an undergraduate, I have interned at Siemens Motor Manufacturing Plant
at Mumbai for their maintenance department and have implemented projects
under Automation and 5 S Methodology. However, I am open to working into
other departments and units as well like quality, design, supply chain,
production etc.
As a part of undergraduate and graduate coursework, I have studied and
implemented TQM, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, Visual Factory Management,
ISO, Six Sigma, DMAIC principles. Also, since Siemens had multiple
manufacturing units at their plant, I have also worked in rotational
shifts.
During my graduate coursework at the engineering school, I have worked on
real life projects helping companies to improve their existing product /
services. One of them being a street lamp, for which we improved the design
in such a way that it actually became cheaper to assemble it the USA as
against assembling it and manufacturing in China.
During my school years at NYU, I have been awarded merit based scholarship
for two years and also had been appointed as a graduate assistant with the
facilities department.
