+Two years automotive : Diagnostics & Fundamentals

+Hybrid skills and knowledge of a mechanic & engineer

Core Engineering

+Thermal Systems, Heat transfer, Fluid dynamics, Thermodynamics, Dynamics, Statics

Machine design, Mechanism design, Strength of Materials, Dynamic systems and control I (classic)

Software

+Fluent in: AutoCAD, MS Office, Pro-E, MathCAD, MatLAB

+Experienced in: Solidworks

Labview, DAQ (data acquisition), ANSYS, Simulink, C++

Volunteership :High Tech, Addison, IL Oct 2010-Nov

Mechanic

+Inspected vehicles for diagnostic examination and root cause analysis.

+Implemented skills learned in auto and engineering classes to properly diagnose and repair problems and concerns.

+Repaired items that would normally be scrapped, therefore reducing cost. Example: cutting drums or rotors.

+Maintained cleanliness of work area, while practicing safety in my work activities.

+Replaced wearable items that could not be replaced.

+Wrote test procedures for jet fuel pumps.

+Redlined documentation, keeping it updated with up to minute changes.

+Oversaw testing of actuation vane pump in test lab stand

+ Performed hysteresis trending in critical pressure regulating valve

+ Conducted boost stage performance trending on pump

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Northern Illinois University, DeKalb IL

Academic Projects:

+Driveshaft project: analyzed driveshaft whirl (deflection at critical speed). The team used a signal conditioner, and On Board Diagnostics-2 interface. Used software to data log parameters, then did Fast Fourier Transforms to reach conclusions.

+Resource reduction team put torture a community of homes that relied on much less water and electricity. This project successfully integrated water tanks, solar heaters, geothermal, and wind turbines.

+Statics team produced a MatLAB program which calculated joint locations for maximum simulated load. Once maximum load was established the truss project was built to specifications, and then tested until failure. This project took us all the way from calculations to prototype build, through testing and failure.

Electives : One year of Electronics, Reliability, Dynamic Systems and Controls 2, Mechatronics
