• Led an eight-month performance optimization effort in the Phoenix US West New Vector market resulting in a significant reduction in the Dropped Call Rate from 3.2% to 1.8%.
Senior Systems Engineer: Las Vegas, Nevada 1992-1995
Provided 5 years of onsite expansion and optimization support to Sprint Cellular, Las Vegas; currently Verizon. Brought about significant growth in the Las Vegas market from 20 to 90 cell sites within 5 years, and rapidly increased subscriber base from 18K to 120K. Substantially reduced and maintained the Dropped Call Rate from 1.70% to 1.13%.
• Directed the infrastructure development group in designing and developing a portable high-power test transceiver to help design and apply in-building distributed antenna systems. This test system was successfully applied to the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Clark County building, the Luxor Hotel and Casino, and the Nevada Power building.
• Cleared frequency spectrum for a cellular subsystem, CDPD trials, and CDMA technologies.
• Conducted weekly presentations to Sprint’s field operations personnel and quarterly presentations to Sprint’s corporate engineers as well as the Motorola’s Systems Engineering group.
• Mentored, trained, and led more than 20 systems engineers on systems design, evaluation, and optimization in preparation to handle the onsite needs of other markets.

• Optimized cellular systems using drive testing, predictive modeling and simulations methods for systems in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. This included SAFCO’s OPAS and PROMAS data collection and processing, SMRTSAM, and XLoss predictive modeling for Best Server, Link-Budget, Call Tracking, Call Origination, Carrier-to-Interference testing., Hand-off lists, cell-location and integration.
• Provided fulltime onsite support in Las Vegas for technology migration, feature testing, equipment conversions, and overall systems expansion. (Ex. NAMPS, MRI, C/I, and LPA trials and deployment).
• Developed and executed cellular systems Growth and Capacity Plans for Sprint Cellular, Las Vegas.
• Diagnosed problems with cell site RF calibration files, RF cabling, RF Power (ERPs), RF Inter-modulation, and poorly performing antennas.
