Skills

The repair and operation of vacuum systems, high voltage power supplies, electron beam guns and ion guns. The production of anti-reflection coatings, narrowband filters, short and long pass filters, on various substrates. The design and reverse engineering of optical coatings using Film Star Design software. Performing spectral test using Perkin Elmer and Cary spectrophotomers. Cleaned and deposited an antireflection coating from a range of 0.7 to 15 microns on a variety of Infrared substrates, including Germanium, Silicon, ZnSe, and CaF2. Performed spectral and durability test on finished product per customer specifications.

Barr Associates, Westford MA. Process Engineer, September 2008 – October 2009

Organized and managed documentation needed to produce thin films in a timely manner. Provided supervision of technicians to ensure proper set up and execution of coating process. Inspect and make necessary changes in coating designs using Film Star.

Optometrics Corporation, Ayer, MA. Senior Thin Film Process Engineer, Jan.08 – Sept.08

Train and supervise technicians in the use and maintenance of a Leybold A1100 coating chamber and its components. Assisted in acquiring the necessary spare and repair parts for coating chamber. (Acquisition from Precision Optics Corp.)

Precision Optics Corporation, Gardner, MA. Senior Thin Film Process Engineer, Nov.95 – Jan.08

Assisted in the set up and modifications of two Leybold A1100 Vacuum coating chambers. Developed a process for producing high yield WDM filters. Trained and supervised technicians in the process of producing high quality optical thin films. Designed and developed highly durable Anti-reflection coatings, laser damage coatings, and high transmitting U.V, narrowband filters.
