Worked with leasing vendors for IT equipment and maintenance, saving over $200,000 in recurring charges yearly. Worked with software vendors to stabilize the mainframe and correct printer software at remote locations that was dropping connection daily. Replaced the Data Entry System with a much less expensive option that gave users more options and more flexibility saving $18,000 Annually. Established requirements and located a vendor to change the company wide phone and voice mail systems. Supported 5 locations in 3 states on 4 NEC 2000 IPS phone systems. Programmed and maintained a central NEC voice mail system to support all PFG users at all locations. Programmed and maintained I/P phones at a remote warehouse and setup to connect to PFG’s PBXs at other locations over existing data T-1s. Set up 4 digit dialing between all locations over existing data T-1s to reduce overall long distance costs. One time cost savings $20,000 and $1200 in monthly recurring charges. Supported wireless devices which included cell phones, pagers, Smart phones and Wireless cards.

VSE System Programmer

Responsible for maintenance and modification to the Operation System Software. Also worked with the SNA gateways and set up TCP/IP File transfers between the Mainframe, UNIX and AS/400 machines. Worked on an IBM ES9000 with a VSE/ESA 2.3 operating system. We used CICS, ICCF, TCP/IP, REXX, VTAM, NCP, VM and several CA products.

Responsible for all VSE operations for Fieldcrest/Cannon. This included working with management at locations in Eden, NC, Fieldale, VA, Scottsboro, AL and Columbus, GA. As a Project Manager, a team member along with Tech Services, Applications, Telecommunications and Management consolidated four VSE shops from four states into the Kannapolis NC Data Center. This included setting new work schedules, setting up new terminals, PC and printers, training operators, setting up a tape management system, restructuring the JCL to be loaded to the 4D scheduling system, analyzing and improving data processing methods in order to expedite the throughput. Set up data transfers into the Corp. system for consolidated reporting.
