WORK HISTORY
2006 R & D Engineer
to Magnetic Separation Systems (MSS)
2009 Nashville, Tennessee
MSS manufactures industrial optical sorters for the recycling industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform a variety of R & D tasks related to optics and sensor control
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
• Project engineer for an X-Ray florescence system for sorting electronic waste
• Project engineer for an ejection system for an optical sorter using paddles rather than air
• Developed stand-alone Visual Basic applications for automating data acquisition
• Designed an Excel spreadsheet utilizing VBA to analyze LED spectrum data obtained from a
spectrometer
• Performed quality control tasks to ensure equipment was manufactured correctly which
included programming Allen-Bradley VFD’s to customer specifications
• Made service trips to customer’s sites to solve problems when they arose
1999 Electronic Design Engineer
to GLW, Inc.
2005 Lavergne, Tennessee
GLW manufactures large format audio consoles for the film, broadcast and music industries.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, develop, test and prepare for production microprocessor circuit boards. Consult with team members from all disciplines throughout development.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Designed several microprocessor circuit boards employing Analog Devices Sharc and Blackfin DSP’s and Microchip PIC microcontrollers most of which required no revisions prior to being released to production. The PCB’s also included extensive CPLD and FPGA designs. All of the boards required the design and development of embedded software and contained various standard interfaces including USB, PCI, RS-232/485, SPI, I2C, SDARM, SRAM and Flash. Some of the projects are detailed below.
• Designed an Analog Devices Blackfin-based microprocessor board with an USB interface
• Designed a multiple-Analog Devices Sharc and Blackfin PCI audio processing board
• Project engineer for a digital audio monitoring system. This included hardware/software
design and development of five separate PCB’s ranging in functionality from an Analog
Devices Sharc based DSP PCB to a PIC microcontroller based PCB for control.
• Designed an Analog Devices SharcDSP-based general purpose controller PCB
• Designed hardware and software for a variety of MicroChip PIC-based embedded controllers
including a microphone preamp controller PCB, a digital audio sample rate converter PCB and
a machine controller PCB
