This work order system is efficient maintenance management software, manage everything from scheduling work orders to preventive maintenance and assets to inventory control. The basic work order is a document that provides important detail about goods and services that a client wishes to obtain from a vendor or supplier. The work order often includes elements that help the vendor to know exactly what the customer wishes to order, including how many units and other details relating to size, shape, and other important options. Using the work order, the vendor is able to fill the needs of a customer from existing inventory or utilize the work order as a means of preparing to produce the items requested by the customer. Work order software is often used today to generate work orders that can be electronically transmitted to the vendor, cutting down on the amount of time required to receive an order from a customer, and create the actual work order. The vendor is able to print out the order or electronically transmit it internally, making it possible to track the progress of fulfillment from the point of receipt to delivery.

The files are converted in both character and GUI mode.

Assignment : Web Toolkit for Oracle Forms

Role : Programmer Analyst

Web Toolkit for Oracle Forms is a product developed for IBM Corporation. It enables migration from Oracle Forms to Java by automating the Migration of Oracle Forms and its components, including the layout and code, to web enabled components. The generated components can be deployed in the Websphere Application Server. All the forms validations, form Triggers, LOV, Editor, Alerts, etc are mapped in JAVA to bring the existing ORACLE FORMS functionality, with the same look & feel (GUI) of the system.

EnvironmentDeveloped using JDK 1.2, JDBC and Java Servlets using IBM Websphere 4.0 application server with DB2 7.2 as backend.

Responsibility:

Involved actively in development of the forms application for the toolkit.

Enthusiastic participation in analysis and development of the parser for FORMS, the native front-end language for Oracle Database.

Exposure to conversion of the Oracle Objects to DB2 objects with data loading.

Mapping of FORMS objects to WEB objects.
