Planned, managed and executed the decommissioning of a manufacturing facility with the cost of 1.2 Million. Reduced the cost by 300 K from the initial estimates through effective negotiation and detailed planning.

Planned and installed an automated new tray handling system, resulted in $450K annual labor cost avoidance for the client.

SENIOR ENGINEER, LANGLEY, BC (2003 TO 2011)

Reporting to the VP of Operations for West Division, managed an annual capital budget of $3 to 6 million. Initiated, planned and executed the capital projects, including construction projects, line and equipment modifications and improvements and new equipment installation projects.

Ensured company achieved it’s strategic targets by effectively preparing and maintaining a 3 year capital plan by studying the business needs and selecting the right projects for inclusion in the plan.

Prepared detailed capital expenditure request for each project, including justification, design, scope, cost estimates and time schedules and effectively communicated the plan to the project sponsors and approvers.

Effectively managed and executed projects after approval. Produced project results and obtained project acceptance from internal and external customers with exceptional success rate.

Contributed to process improvement, food safety, health and safety and other operational and maintenance initiatives in plants, which resulted in overall reduced waste, increased efficiency and reduced down time.

Prepared the design and managed installation of a new 4000 sq-ft holding freezer and related construction work. Reduced company costs through effective negotiations with suppliers.
