Geologist seeking an environmental position to gain further experience to broaden geological, global business, and communication skills to enhance my knowledge, proficiency, and contribution to the environmental industry.
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
CGGVeritas 2006 - Present
Geologist/geophysicist interpreting seismic data in the Gulf of Mexico and Brazil by creating 3-D velocity models of salt bodies in support of pre-stack depth migration. Representative accomplishments include:
- Geologist: Full Time Contractor, Lafayette, CA 5/08 – Present
Use remote access technology to contribute interpretation services to project leaders in the Houston, TX office.
* East Breaks, Gulf of Mexico (100 Blocks): Interacted with senior geologists in Houston office daily to meet client needs and requests. Helped other team members on project by quality controlling data and acquiring additional interpretation work to assist in meeting deadlines. Travel to Houston as necessary.
* Santos Basin, Brazil (700 blocks): Worked with two other individuals to successfully meet challenging deadlines while learning and applying geologic models unique to Brazil’s structural geology.
- Geologist, Houston, TX 4/06 – 1/08
* Walker Ridge II, Gulf of Mexico (112 blocks): Team leader for the project. Defined project scope and developed resource loaded schedules. Organized and managed meetings with team members, PSDM processing team, external clients underwriting project, and internal clients to quality control data, track progress against schedule, and maintain communications between all individuals involved with the project.
o Wrote a manual for interpreting salt structures and building velocity models using proprietary interpretation software, which was used to train interpreters during the CGGVeritas restructuring.
* Green Canyon, Gulf of Mexico (220 blocks): Following CGG’s acquisition of Veritas, one of the first CGG employees assigned to a team in the legacy Veritas office. Learned GeoFrame IESX and new work flows while completing a fast-track product with team leader for a proprietary project. Presented velocity models, discussed data quality, and suggested alternative interpretations during client meetings.
* Phase J, Gulf of Mexico (90 blocks): Helped quality control salt model prior to final salt migration.
* Garden Banks, Gulf of Mexico (370 blocks): Worked closely with mentor and pre-stack depth migration processing team to construct salt and sub-salt velocity models. Participated in meetings with clients to incorporate well data in the final model.
