Technical QA Manager January 2008 to Present

Leading Quality Assurance teams on multiple product lines ensuring total quality output from all aspects of software development.

Lead Quality Assurance team to ensure major performance issues highlighted which helped the organization in achieving 99.9% uptime of critical applications that receives close to 1 million transactions every day.

Setup a proper system for Quality management to achieve lesser post-production issues.

Setup production monitoring through automated testing which resulted in pro-active fixation of Production Database and functional crashes.

Working towards a proper code-review process to facilitate distributed development teams spanned across North America, Europe and Pakistan.

Manage on-shore development team as and when required.

Key Projects include:

inQuire Search: Part of Core team for creating a product catalog search engine handling millions of products in multiple languages I was responsible for overseeing development and test teams in Karachi office and managed multiple teams on the design and development of this multi-tier, horizontally distributed, clustered catalog search engine. Enabled up-sales/cross-sales, banner ads, and search sort merchandising by integrating merchandising rule engines and expanded functionality to include faceted navigation, parametric filtering, keyword search with normalization, stemming, synonyms, and spelling suggestions. Search engine serves Acer and IngramMicro.com, the world’s largest IT distributor and powers the Etilize SpexLive SAAS platform in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Also served as Product and QA Manager.

conQuire Product Information Management System: Fulfill the need of aggregating content for 100+ customers including Ingram Micro, SP Richards, HP, Acer, Best Buy etc. with Database size over 200GB and almost a million transactions every month. I Managed 6+ test engineers to deliver new and improved functionalities while keeping the legacy code and functional Areas intact.

Best Buy Product Selector: Managed a team of software developers and test engineers to complete a product configurator for internal best buy product selection process. Technical deliverables include a fully functional e-commerce based web application that is built around 500k+ products and its selection process. The project was successfully delivered and deployed on October 2, 2011.

HP Product Configurator: Managed a team of software developers and test engineers to complete a product configurator for internal HP product selection process. Products selected are sourced with Etilize for product content creation and show up on HP-HHO Public Web portal. Technical deliverables include a fully functional e-commerce based web application that is built around 100k+ products and its selection process. The project was successfully delivered and deployed in September 2010.

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer/Lead September 2005- December 2007

Key Projects Include:

Ingram Micro E-Commerce: Worked as a Test team-lead enabling high performance user experience and asynchronous communication with legacy components by testing and deploying IngramMicro.com/search. Led testing and production launch with accountability for a team ranging up to 2+ members checking and verifying the code written by developers dispersed throughout Canada, the U.S., and Pakistan. Ensured seamless integration testing of legacy systems with AJAX and Java. Outcome: Successful launch of new e- commerce site, which still serves Canadian and US resellers today.
