• As quality supervisor at The Tech Group, developed new plan for in-process inspection versus final inspection that increased the detection and prevention of quality defects and thus reducing customer complaints by over 40%.

• As team leader of the Steelcase Seating Plant quality team, developed and implemented a new team structure that reorganized the quality department according to product group focus. This improved the team’s response time and effectiveness to customer inquiries by over 50%.

Quality/Continuous Improvement/Project Management

• As quality supervisor at The Tech Group, lead a cross-functional team that developed and implemented a new way to move product in the plant using continuous flow rather than batch processing. It reduced total time to the shipping dock from days to just a few hours.

• As a quality consultant on a cross-functional team at Steelcase commissioned to implement turn around initiatives for a troubled division, helped develop a plan for processing special custom customer orders that yielded less customer complaints. Team generated over $2 million dollars per month in cost savings and brought the division back into profitability. Certified Six Sigma Green Belt.

• As a quality technician at Steelcase, reorganized the plastic grand masters storage and measurement system for the corporation which was in disarray. Represented Steelcase in a BIFMA subcommittee that developed and implemented a new Office Furniture Industry standard for color measurement.
