Alfred Dunner Inc. - Designer 2002 - 2008

Sportswear - (Added full time responsibility, along with maintaining coat division’s duties, July 2005 - June 2008)

 Duties included all aspects of line development for both Alfred Dunner’s specials and branded divisions for missy, women’s and plus sizes: fabric and trim research, print research and coloring, garment design and surface layouts.

 Presented, both with the design team and alone, concepts, garments and artwork to sales and retail buyers in all concept, recap and finalization meetings, while applying a creative and logistical thought process to all issues.

 Maintained daily interaction with the technical department, manufacturers and vendors to achieve set pricing and production goals.

 Supervised technical fittings for specials division.

Coat and Outerwear - (Freelance 2002 - 2005)

 Sole designer and merchandiser for division, which included wool coats, rainwear and outerwear.

 Researched and approved all colors, fabrics and trims.

 Implemented and supervised all facets of domestic and imported technical design, which included detailed spec and construction packages and fittings.

 Projects included garment design, illustrations, presentation boards, support work, embroidery layouts, spec packages for both knits and wovens.

 Sent to Europe for textile and garment research.

 Directed trend, silhouette, fabric, color presentations on behalf of client for prospective vendors.

Fairbrooke Enterprises/ Drizzle - Designer 1996 - 1999

 Rehired under new ownership to design for Drizzle and D2- women’s and men’s rainwear and outerwear divisions.

 Initiated and implemented all design facets of manufacturing, including spec packages and technical corrections.

 Conducted and supervised all sample and production fittings.

Norton McNaughton - Designer/ Merchandiser 1995 - 1996

 Designed, merchandised, spec’d, and fit all promotional and private label lines.

 Worked jointly with retail buyers and executives on exclusive garments and groups.

 Directed color and concept presentations to sales department and buyers.

 Designed, spec’d, and conducted fit sessions for all garments manufactured in Asia for the sportswear division.

 Worked with sales department to develop sportswear promotional packages.

 Sketched, designed and implemented tech packages for women’s and men’s Drizzle and D2 divisions.

 Directed all fittings and performed all administrative duties for in house sample room.
