Senior Network Administrator/Lead
• Drew up initial Kandahar NIPRNet and SIPRNet LAN redesign plans, implemented a pilot for proof of design, which was accepted by the 25th Signal Battalion RNOSC, upon network redesign completion, received an award for excellence.
• Assisted with the development of a Kandahar network infrastructure upgrade package, this 3 million dollar package has been approved and is now going through the ordering phases.
• Replaced outdated LAN security solutions, such as VMPS and Port Security with an 802.1x solution which lowered administrative overhead and allowed for better service to the end user.
• Awarded coin of excellence from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, ADM Michael Mullen, for service provided during his visit to Kandahar.
• Works on the Afghanistan NIPR and SIPR networks as Tier 2 support for a base with over 10,000 users. Day to day task include configuring, implementing and troubleshooting switches, routers, firewalls, VoIP phones, Tandberg VTCs and network related servers.
• Plays a major role in the development of the KAF Technical Control Facility 2 plan, which involves setting up a COOP site in a virtualized environment, as well as providing 10GB links to all distribution switches and 3 server farms.
• Gathered unused routers, switches and firewalls in order to build a lab. This lab has been vital to the testing of future network implementations and the training of fellow employees.

Senior Information Systems Specialist
• Communicated to superiors the need of essential IT upgrades and was approved appropriate funding which resulted in increased network performance, quicker help desk ticket turn around, greater Information Assurance and overall higher customer satisfaction.
• Designed and implemented a Windows Server 2003 domain architecture which included two domain controllers and four member servers; this network effectively monitored and supported over 460 client machines running Windows 2000/XP on multiple bases throughout Iraq.
• Designed, implemented, and performed troubleshooting procedures on a network which included Cisco Aironet 350 series wireless bridges, 2500 series routers, and 2600 series routers as well as generic hubs and switches. This network supported the 101 Combat Aviation Brigade during operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Fort Campbell.
• Wrote User Agreement Policies and ensured each user read and signed each policy in order to maintain a secure network.
• Constantly monitored network to ensure mission essential systems remained up and running while providing a daily report to superiors displaying a graphical representation of system status.
• Deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) IV and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) VII.
• Developed and instructed an effective training program which prepared technicians for new information systems and equipment, allowing for a quick integration of new equipment.
