RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE
Chromalloy Component Services – San Antonio, TX 5/2010 – 8/2011
Product Engineer/Research & Development Engineering
Used OEM manuals to update, revise and rewrite Process Routing Working Instructions (PRWI) to improve the overhaul
process on gas turbine engine components for various engines. Engines included:
o General Electric (GE): CF6-50, CF6-80A, CF6-80C2, TF39, LM2500
o Pratt & Whitney (PW): PW2000, PW4000-94”, PW4000-112”, PW4000-100”
o Rolls-Royce (RR): RB211-535
Communicated with shop floor personnel to insure processes are fluent to successfully complete overhaul processes.
Maintained organized documentation of projects.
Designed tooling for various gas turbine engine components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Revised and replaced drawings for gas turbine engine components and existing tooling for documentation purposes using
SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Design Projects
CF6-50 KC-10 LPT Compressor Shroud Stg. 1 & 2 Inspection Fixture – used for repair process improvement
o Lead Design Engineer and Draftsman
o SolidWorks & AutoCAD
LM2500 Turbine Mid Frame Strut Tapered Bushing Removal Tool – used to remove nearly inaccessible bushing
o Draftsman
o SolidWorks
CF6-50 Mid Shaft Work Bench – used to restrain mid shaft during repair and inspection process
o Lead Design Engineer and Draftsman
o SolidWorks & AutoCAD
Research & Development
TF39 Aft Transfer Gearbox Surface Restoration Spacers – used blueprints to draw 3D model of TF39 Gear Box in
SolidWorks to aid in replacing a flawed plasma spray repair. Spacers were designed to cover several surfaces that were
previously plasma sprayed. The spacers can be machined to the specified tolerances, thus replacing the plasma spray process.
Aided in developing a silver plate repair for the GE CF6-50 LPT Mid Shaft Aft Coupling Nut as a Designated Engineer
Representative repair (DER repair).
o Missing silver plate on the threads and seating surface of the aft coupling nut was the reason for parts being
scrapped. A silver plate repair created savings for the customer and revenue for Chromalloy Component Services.
Metallurgical Lab Experience
Abrasive wet cutting with precision cut off saw
Mounting samples embedded in resin to facilitate their handling during analysis
Mineralogical preparation of samples: Magnetic Supporting Disc (MD–Disc) grinding & polishing
Microscopic analysis (x25 – x1000 magnification)
Training Experience
Trained several co-workers in computer aided design software, SolidWorks
Trained co-workers writing process routers using FoxPro program software
Trained newly hired Engineering Co-Ops in daily work related duties OTHER WORK
EXPERIENCE
Southwest Research Institute – San Antonio, TX 5/2006 – 8/2006
Summer – Hire
Received, processed and prepared fuel samples for the Fuels and Lubricants Research Division lab, as well as prepared empty
canisters for sample gathering.
Tasks included: Scanned 150 incoming fuel samples daily, on average; Systematically entered individual sample data into data
acquisitioning program; Created bar codes and labels for each fuel sample as received; Numerically organized and
delivered samples to the research laboratory; Cleaned, boxed and shipped 500 empty canisters for sample gathering
daily
