Research Experience: Six months

Project: “Preparation,Characterization and Evaluation of 5- fluorouracil loaded Chitosan Nanoparticles as drug carrier sysystem.”

Nature of Work:. The nanoparticles for drug targeting to cancer cell were prepared by the ionic gelation and the properties of the nano particles were studied. The results indicate that Chitosen nanoparticles can be designed as carriers for delivery of 5-FU which show promising characteristics and sustained the release of 5-FU in vitro and long term stability of drug.

1. Attended UGC, DST, CSIR sponsored national level conference on “Nanomaterials: Synthesis and Applications Nano-09” held at DAV college Jalandhar on 6-7 Feb, 2009.

2. Attended UGC sponsored national level conference on “Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology” held at S.R. Govt. College for women Amritsar on 16-17 Feb, 2009.

Extra-Curricular Activities

1. won a 2nd prize in relay race in inter-departmental competition in sports day 2010, held at G.N.D.U., Amritsar.

2. Won 2nd prize in interdepartment cricket tournament 2010, held at G.N.D.U, Amritsar.

3. Won 1st prize in 100m race in college sports day held at A.B college ,Pathankot.

4. Won 3rd prize in longjump, shortput, discuss throw and 200m race in college sports day held at A.B college ,Pathankot.
