OBJECTIVE

Principal position at a leading bio-pharmaceutical that provides challenging opportunities for the application of NMR knowledge and strong analytical skills to achieve multidisciplinary, multi-functional goals

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ph. D trained expert in NMR theory and its applications with a specialty in solid/liquid-state NMR spectroscopy; extreme proficiency at designing and implementing NMR pulse sequences for multi-dimensional, multi-nuclear NMR experiments as well as seamless adoption of new cutting-edge NMR technology

• Over 13 years of experience in the pharmaceutical application of NMR technique to solve challenging problems such as elucidating structures, identifying impurities, and characterizing small molecules at both the research and commercial stages of drug development. Specifically skilled at distinguishing chiral compounds by NMR in liquid crystal medium, separating/determining structures of metabolites by LC-NMR, and characterizing drug candidates’ polymorphs by solid-state NMR

• Established a solid-state NMR lab and led the implementation of sophisticated NMR techniques to support several late stage drug development projects by characterizing drug substances (APIs) and drug products, identifying specific forms of polymorphs, determining protonation sites of API salts, and studying molecular interactions of co-crystals

• Demonstrated ability at overseeing and operating Varian and Bruker models of NMR spectrometers (300 MHz –750 MHz) equipped with auto-sampler, PFG module, and cyro-probe in regards to instrument calibration, optimization, and troubleshooting

• Skilled in operating additional analytical instruments such as GC, HPLC, MS, IR, and DSC/DTG as well as utilizing UNIX system, LIMS, FELIX, GAMMA and POAM to design NMR pulse sequences and analyze NMR data
