WORK EXPERIENCE
University of Twente Institute, Enschede, Overijssel Netherlands
Masters Thesis Project 07/2010 - 04/2011
Title: To develop a mathematical model that calculates fluid flows within tissue engineering scaffolds and to integrate the model with an existing model that calculates surface strains due to compression in the same scaffolds.
• Study the existing models related to fluid flow analysis in tissue engineering scaffolds
• Deep study about fluid flow property
• Model extraction for the porose and biomaterial fractions to have a shared nodes and elements.
• Integrate the fluid flow model with the compression analysis model using Matlab software.
• Introduce mechanobiology models to predict the tissue development, whether the developed tissues are bones, cartilage, fibrous connective tissue or cell death.
• With these models tissue development and differentiation within a mechanically stimulated system can be predicted and optimized.
University of Groningen, Groningen, Groningen Netherlands
Internship Project 11/2009 - 06/2010
Title: Electrode Design; Electric Current Induced Prevention of Biofilms on stainless steel.
• Literature study about biomaterial implant and the infection micro-organisms leading to the occurrence of biomaterial-centered infection.
• Design, prototype and test new system for preventing infections around percutaneous implant for direct prosthesis fixation.
University of Twente, Enschede, Overijssel Netherlands
Masters project 02/2010 - 11/2010
Title: Deep brain stimulation of the nucleus accumbens results in non-addicted behavior and significant weight loss in food addicted rats
• A research done as part of the course Technology for the Support of Human Functions
• Clinical problem, physiology, anatomy and electric stimulation as a background study
• Research approach; food addiction, existence of food addiction in animals and comparable to humans, from the study a hypothesis was formulated, materials and methods.
University of Twente, Enschede, Overijssel Netherlands
Masters Project 02/2010 - 08/2010
Title: Child car seat design
• A design assignment as part of the course Design, Production and Materials
• Calculation forces on iso-fix and belt, stress calculation of the shell, plate construction calculation, stress applied by the belt on the hole of the plate shell.
• Research on material type, production process and head injury criterion(HIC)
University of Twente, Enschede, Overijssel Netherlands

Masters Project 02/2009 - 06/2009
Title: Design of lower back and hip joint for a humanoid robot.
• A research done as part of the course Design Principles for Precision Mechanisms.
• Investigate the Problems with walking in humanoid robots
• Investigate the available solutions based on the concept of ball-and-socket joint (for the hip design), and degrees of freedoms.
• Analysis regarding series elastic actuation, bandwidth, torques and friction.
• Mechanical design of the hip, actuator design, Series elastics calculations, and sensor design.
University of Twente, Enschede, Overijssel Netherlands
