Objective: To obtain a technical managerial position with increased responsibilities over my present position so that I can grow in knowledge and experience and gain advancement opportunities.
Experience:
• Presently assigned as the Afghan Theater Manager for the RG-31 MRAP for GDLS where I have managed the program in country to include over 80 personnel and over 1400 MRAPs for over 3 years. This involves my use of leadership and management skills I have developed. Must work closely with the military and government agencies as well as other contractors in theater. I ensure we support both the maintenance and training requirements of our customers. This also includes maintenance reporting and configuration management reporting.
• At least 4 years experience in the military as a maintenance chief or a maintenance/production control chief where my duties included managing an aviation maintenance effort to include logistics, manning and planning. Also directed the maintenance efforts of the different maintenance shops by setting priorities and by coordinating their efforts. Also responsible for accurate maintenance reporting and configuration management responsibilities as well as supply reconciliation to ensure all parts were accounted for and in the correct status.
• Taught classes to DOD personnel on the operations and maintenance of Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles (MRAP) and the mine protected clearance vehicles (MPCV) to include theory of operations of vehicle systems such as anti lock braking and air conditioning systems and in vehicle troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Completed MRAP University in Texas to be qualified to teach all MRAP vehicles currently in the inventory.
• Completed Marine Corps, Navy, Army and General Dynamics Land Systems instructor training courses and was certified to teach by the state of North Carolina.
• Eight successful years total experience in public education as a Career and Technical Education teacher in the field of electronics where I had students achieve high end of course test scores consistently far above the state average.
• Two years experience on the curriculum re-writing team to update the high school electronics curriculum for the state of NC.
• Previous electronic repair and testing experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment testing and repairing radio control room consoles.
• Previous experience in the testing and calibration of various production equipment and test cells.
• Over 5 years of military depot level avionics experience operating and maintaining electronic automatic test equipment, troubleshooting of aircraft electronic systems and repairs down to circuit board component level. Aircraft systems included flight control and air data computers, heads up displays, electronic countermeasures, low light camera systems and radars. Also worked in calibration where I calibrated equipment to include engine test equipment and jet engine test cells as well as pressure transducers and heat treating ovens.
• Over eight years experience testing and repairing a vast array of different electronic systems usually down to component level while working for defense contractors and as a civil service worker at a Naval Aviation Depot.
• Previous teaching experience in the military where I taught both formal and on the job training of aviation electronics as well as various maintenance and military related subjects as well as assisted in the running of an advanced electronics school for the Navy.
• Over 20 years experience in military avionics where I maintained aircraft systems and ran maintenance shops where I directed other technicians in maintenance. Systems included ballistic computers, search and tracking radars, inertial navigation, armament, and forward looking infra-red systems.
• Experienced in the repair of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drive systems including some limited calibration.
• Many years experience in technical writing where I had to write or re-write procedures, correct publications, write lesson plans, curriculums for courses and equipment maintenance histories.
• Experienced in the use of technical publications to include schematics, illustrated parts breakdowns, block and ladder diagrams and have either modified existing or drafted up new technical literature.
• Many other experiences where I had administrative responsibilities while serving in the Marine Corps, while working for the government and while working for industry.
• Over 12 years experience in supervising others where I was responsible for their well-being, training, safety and performance. I supervised as many as 200 or more recruits while a drill instructor, 75 instructors and 500 students in a Navy electronics school, 70 to 120 aviation technicians of different disciplines while a maintenance chief as examples.
• Experienced in Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.
Education:
• Associates Degree in General Science and am working on continuing my education.
• Many years of informal and on the job education dealing with management and administrative issues.
Certifications:
• General Radiotelephone Operator’s License from the FCC.
• Certified Journeyman Radar Technician by the ISCET.
• Had maintained a secret clearance while in the military and while working as a civil service worker and while working for two different defense contractors.
• Have completed US Army, Navy and Marine Corps and General Dynamics Land Systems Instructor training courses and was a certified public school teacher for the state of North Carolina.
• Motor Vehicle Air Conditioning Technician Certification (MVAC).
Hobbies:
• Repairing automobiles and motorcycles and engine rebuilding.
• Working on developing better welding skills.
• Teaching myself machining on a lathe and mill.
• Writing a novel.
