• Support the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and all US Embassies as a WAN and LAN network engineer on the HOCNET program. The program is responsible for upgrading the existing Windows NT domain to an Enterprise Windows 2003 Active Directory domain at over 280 sites worldwide. All hardware to include Workstations, VOIP phones, Desktop Video Teleconference units, Servers, Switches, Routers, and Printers are refreshed with models that are currently supported by there respective vendor.

• Directed the pre-installation design and planning of the network infrastructure with each respective site, contacting them on a daily basis to ensure a smooth and efficient installation.

• Provide 24x7 Tier 2 and Tier 3 troubleshooting technical leadership and support to the deployed install team at various sites around the world.

• Configured Cisco Switches, Routers, and Firewalls to ensure network connectivity is established and maintained.

• Configure VLANs on Switches to provide network segmentation services for scalability, security, and management. Configure Routers in VLAN topologies to provide broadcast filtering, security, address summarization, and traffic flow management.

• Administer network accounts using Active Directory for the customer ensuring proper privileges are granted to the users.

• Create new sites using Active Directory before our team deploys to the location.

• Deal heavily with TACLANE encryption devices to establish secure connectivity to all of our locations.

• Conducted Quality Assurance using Remote Desktop to ensure site server is configured properly. While on site all problem tickets are support in a timely manner with closure of incidents.

• Provide disaster recovery solutions by locally mirroring and striping the system’s data by using disk protection technology RAID. Daily site backups are performed with remote storage and anti-virus software and other security measures are in place.
