EXPERIENCE
Amdocs July ’10 to Aug ‘11
Software Developer
• Consultant for a major billing conversion for a large telecom company. Our client converted from their current system to the Amdocs billing system. My responsibilities were, through the construction of SQL scripts, to provide analysis ensuring that customer charges remained consistent from one system to the other and that the company's receivables were calculating correctly. Created scripts to adjust inconsistencies or created reports and Excel spreadsheets to be sent to the appropriate developers for correction.
• Analyzed code in Cobol programs to make recommendations, for error correction or modifications, to the development team.
• Using Serena Dimension’s issue management system, effective communication and inter-team collaborative skills, System Test issues were tracked and brought to resolution with quick turnaround.
Technisource, Inc. May ’07 to Sep ‘09
Programmer/Analyst Contractor
• Renewed contract with Mary Kay, Inc. While working with Mary Kay’s European team, tasks included creating, modifying and testing a variety of programs written in Microfocus Cobol on NetExpress with embedded SQL. These applications were used to update Mary Kay’s inventory, ordering and financial systems. The database used is Oracle10. Many of the applications involved loading tables with information from the Customer Ordering and Commission systems. Deliverables were completed on time with a high customer satisfaction rating.
• Created test documents for the above to enable other team members the ability to execute the processes.
• Successfully completed the conversion of Mary Kay’s National Sales Director’s Feedback system from the Access database to SQLServer. With no prior experience and limited supervision, this was completed using C# in a .NET environment. The screens were modified in HTML.
Remote Dynamics Feb ’02 to Jun ‘06
Sr. Billing Programmer/Analyst
• As the lone COBOL programmer, responsibilities included maintaining, enhancing, and executing the Amdocs/ITDS Billing system. These applications provided updates to Remote Dynamics accounting system. Worked closely with the accounting team to ensure that all financials were updated correctly. This system is written in Microfocus COBOL. The batch process is written using UNIX scripts. Duties also include resolving all issues, reviewing reports upon completion of the job, as well as distributing data and print instructions to our third party vendor for invoice printing.
• Modified the Amdocs/ITDS billing system to invoice, in-house, Remote Dynamics new REDIView product. This major enhancement required the installation of an upgraded tax software package and the modification of existing programs to handle the newer version and produce the new, in-house, invoices. Billing and invoicing programs were modified to allow the existing billing flow to continue to produce the standard invoices. This was accomplished by creating data files that are converted to SQL Server tables. The new invoice was created using Crystal Reports 8.0. Data access is through newly created SQL queries. The success of this project saved the Remote Dynamics from having to purchase a new billing system.
• During and after the conversion to the Epicor accounting system, I authored many of the custom reports using Crystal Reports 8.0
• Trained as an internal ISO/9001:2000 auditor. Responsibilities include conducting quarterly interviews with chosen members of the staff and reporting the results to the ISO coordinator.
• Coordinate IT’s Process Change Requests. Duties include assigning control numbers, logging the forms, and scheduling review meetings.
Excel Communications
Sr. Systems Specialist Oct ’98 to Oct ‘01
• Analyzed, designed, developed, tested and implemented various applications for new residential and commercial customers using Microfocus COBOL in a Windows NT environment under Netexpress 3.1. These applications utilized calls to Btrieve and Sybase databases. Modifications to the Btrieve files included revising layouts and the introduction of new key structures.
• Technical lead responsible for writing statements of work, technical designs and test plans on various projects. These duties also included composing test and production change requests.
• Resolved problem situations in a timely manner and maintained the on-call procedures and problem log.
IBM
I/T Specialist Sept ’96 to Oct ‘98

• Worked with the test team in a large systems integration Customer Information System project for a major utility with an integrated customer/IBM team. Ran test cases and resolved all Host defects that were encountered. Deliverables were completed on time with a high customer satisfaction rating.
• Assigned to the construction team of another major utility project. Responsible for writing technical specifications and coding of customer requested enhancements to the base system.
