ALCATEL-LUCENT (Telecommunications)
April 2007 – January 2008- Plano, TX USA
Part of the Optical Network Division - in charge of testing DWDM Network Elements from a software/ hardware standpoint. Products:
1626Light Manager, Release 2.1 (ANSI)
Alcatel 1626LM is the new platform of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems for Core Networks. It addresses terrestrial applications from LongHaul (< 600km) to Ultra LongHaul(up to 4500km) and unrepeatered submarine apps (400km single span), from average capacity for regional networks up to large capacity for pan continental networks (up to 192 wavelengths). 1626LM has also the ability to upgrade legacy platforms without traffic interruption. Carriers can keep their installed DWDM base and increase its capacity by loading new wavelengths from the 1626LM; compliant with both ETSI and NEBS standards.
1696Metro Span, Release 3.1 (ANSI)
Alcatel 1696 Metro Span is a fully reconfigurable WDM platform that provides complete optical layer visibility at an individual wavelength level, simplifying service delivery and speeding revenue generation. By supporting a wide rangeof data rates, the 1696MS facilitates the delivery of services in a variety of environments and applications. 1696MS uses Reconfigurable Optical Add Drop Multiplexer (ROADM) technology, which allows service providers to remotely provision and reconfigure wavelengths while adding “any-wavelength-to-anywhere” flexibility to their network infrastructure. As a unique complement to this ROADM functionality, the 1696MS also features Wavelength Tracker™, an integrated capability that monitors and traces each wavelength at any point in the network.
Key Responsibilities:
• Acting as validation support & taking equipment training
• Writing technical documentation (customer related), test specs and test cases, writing and managing defects using ClearDDTS
